Magpahn® RT

An Integrated MR QA System designed to meet the specific needs MR QA in radiotherapy planning and guidance.

Distortion measurements for MRI in radiotherapy require a large field of view to encompass the range of torso sizes encountered in clinical practice. The Magphan® RT’s modular design provides 2 different sizes. The large body configuration can measure distortion over a volume of 35 x 27 x 21cm and the super size configuration measures over a volume of 35 x 39 x 21 cm. The Magphan® RT analysis system allows multiple image sets to be stitched together thus allowing a larger superior- inferior dimension to be achieved through table indexing.

With the large measurement volumes required for RT applications weight can become an issue. In order to make the phantom manageable for a single person without special handling devices we created a modular design with self contained sections that fit together precisely. For the large body configuration there are two sections (top and bottom) . The super size configuration includes a center module to increase volume in the the AP direction. Each module is light enough to be handle by a single person.

The modular design not only allows for easy handling of the phantom but also facilitates future system expansion with additional measurement modules.

Magphan® S162

A system phantom designed to meet the specific QA needs for MRI scanners used in quantitative imaging, particularly in applications where geometric distortion can have critical impacts.

The Magphan® S162 has a 19 cm outside diameter housing and measures geometric distortion throughout the 150 mm by 158 mm spheroidal volume. Along with 209 distortion measurement spheres the phantom contains 12 spheres filled with solutions to cover a range of T1 and T2 values seen in many quantitative clinical applications. Additional test objects perform slice thickness and high resolution measurements, and signal uniformity is measured throughout the full 3D phantom volume using our patent-pending technique.
